Major European Leagues Wrap Up


In the Premiership Chelsea continues to stay at the top of the table while Manchester City probe themselves against Arsenal, Manchester United able to come back against Tottenham 3-1 and with the Manchester derby next week the table might start to take its form.

In Serie A everything continues as expected except Roma who with new coach Claudio Ranieri are
able to get a 2-1 win against Siena. Cassano continues to sparkle as he provides the winning assist for Mannini against Atlanta putting Sampdoria in third place with Inter Milan right behind, having won 2-0 against Parma. Caceres scores on his debut for Juventus and Milan continue to delude.

In La Liga Barcelona stay in 1st spot winning 2-0 against Getafe with Ibrahimovic scoring and providing an assist to Messi, and Real Madrid is driven by Kaka' who provides two assists for Granero and Guti with Cristiano Ronaldo scoring the third goal against Espanyol. Sevilla gets through Real Zaragoza winning 4-1 with two goals by Luis Fabiano, Valencia wins 4-2 against Real Valladolid, and Villareal is held to a draw by Mallorca with the game ending 1-1.

The Barclay's Premiership


The Premiership table is now beginning to take its shape with the top four starting to be determined, Chelsea are at the top with 15 points, Manchester United is second, beating Manchester City only on goal difference which should make for a competitive Manchester derby. Tottenham remain fourth with 12 points, and Liverpool are in fifth place with nine points.

Arsenal are ninth behind Aston Villa (9), Sunderland (9), and Stoke (7), with only six points beating Fulham, Wigan, and Burnley, by goal difference. All tied at four points are West Ham, Blackburn, Birmingham, Wolves, and Hull City.

This leaves the bottom three to Bolton (3), Everton (3), and Portsmouth, stuck at zero points.

The Serie A


In the Serie A Inter are fourth with seven points, starting to climb back into first position currently held by Genoa with nine points, Juventus and Sampdoria are also at nine points but only second and third because of the goal difference. Fiorentina are fifth trying to continue to remain in the Champions League next year with Lazio right behind them. All at four points are Udinese, Palermo, Parma, and Milan.

Siena, Chievo, Bari, Napoli, and Roma, are all at three points, with Bologna and Livorno behind at two points. the bottom three are Cagliari (1), Atlanta (0), and Catania (0).

Milan and Roma both having a terrible start to the season will look to move up the table, while both teams from the city of Genoa (Sampdoria and Genoa) are doing well, being first (Genoa), and third (Sampdoria).

La Liga

La Liga's tables seem to be taking form very quickly, with the top four being Barcelona, Real Madrid, Valencia, and Athletic Bilbao all with six points, it looks like it will be a very competitive season. Mallorca is fifth with four points, followed by Malaga, Getafe, Sevilla, Deportivo La Coruna, Tenerife, Real Zaragoza, and Sporting Gijon, all at three points. Which leaves Villareal at two points in 13th place, then Osasuna, Almeria, Real Valladolid, and Racing Santander at one point. The bottom three are Atletico Madrid (1), Deportivo Xerez (0), and Espanyol (0).

In the French League Bordeaux and Lyon are both at the top of the table with 13 points, 4 wins, and 1 draw, Bordeaux leads only by two goals in the goal difference. Montpellier in third position with Olympique Marseille closely following only behind on goal difference, PSG is at 10 points leaving them in fifth position.

In the Bundesliga, Bayern Munich who are in fifth place are looking to climb up to first place, currently occupied by Hamburger FC, while current holders, Wolfsburg are tenth.
