Major Leagues Wrap Up: Chelsea Overpowers Liverpool to go to Top of the Table

In England, Liverpool is beaten 2-0 by a powerful Chelsea side which moves to the top of the Premiership. 
In Italy, Italian champions Inter Milan move to the top of the Serie A beating Udinese 2-1 with a late winner by Sneijder in stoppage time. 
In Spain, Real Madrid is taken down by Sevilla 2-1, while Barcelona struggle with Almeira winning 1-0 with Pedro scoring. 
And in the Scottish Premier League, Rangers win the Old Firm derby at home, beating Celtic 2-1, with Miller scoring a brace for Rangers and McGeady scoring a penalty.

*OLD FIRM DERBY SPECIAL* Rangers - Celtic


One of the greatest derbies in the world of football, The Old Firm derby, took place and with over 100 years of history Rangers conquered it this time, and could move to win the Scottish Premier League. Miller opens the game well with a goal in the 8th minute, and scores again after another 8 minutes. The game seemed done but Celtic tried to fight back with a penalty in the 25th minute, scored by McGeady. Rangers hold on and are able to win the legendary derby 2-1 even though they are still second to Celtic by one point.

Chelsea - Liverpool


Chelsea looking to move to the top, and Liverpool looking to take control of its fate, Chelsea were the better side throughout the fast paced and physical game. Anelka scores for Chelsea in the 60th minute, showing Chelsea's dominance well. Benayoun replaces Riera and starts to breathe life into the team. Malouda puts the nail in the coffin scoring in injury time giving Ancelotti an important three points. Liverpool were sloppy and predictable, Torres misses the target too often and Hilario decides not to let any shots through, Gerrard is sloppy and Kuyt is nowhere to be seen.

Manchester United - Sunderland


Manchester United draws against Sunderland, Bent starts the scoring in the 7th minute, and Berbatov equalizes in the 51st minute with Jones getting the lead back for Sunderland soon after. In the 85th minute Richardson is sent off and Sunderland is in ten men setting up a tense ending. And in injury time Ferdinand scores an own goal giving Manchester United the draw, 2-2 the final score.

Arsenal - Blackburn Rovers


Arsenal thrash Blackburn 6-2 with goals from all over the field. Blackburn start off well with Nzonzi scoring in the 4th minute, but Arsenal catch up in the 17th with Vermaelen, who this season has scored three goals for Arsenal in the Premiership. Dunn gets Blackburn ahead 2-1 in the 30th minute, but Van Persie and Arshavin score soon after making it 3-2. In the second half, Fabregas scores a beatiful volley with his left foot outside of the box, sending the ball into the top left corner, then Walcott replaces Rosicky in the 69th minute and six minutes after he scores, making it 5-2. To top it all off Bendtner scores in the 89th minute proving Arsenal's superiority, and showing that the signing of the season could very well be Vermaelen, for 10 million pounds, protecting the backline neatly, and scoring three goals already in the Premiership.

Palermo - Juventus

Palermo are able to overpower Juventus with quick counter-attacks and great teamwork. Palermo start off well, and in the 37th minute thanks to an error made by Felipe Melo, Palermo are 3 against 2 and Cavani blasts the ball into the back of the net. Soon after from a free kick from outside the box, Miccoli puts a wonderful ball in for Simplicio (completely unmarked) who tips it past Buffon, making it 2-0. Instead of closing up shop, Zenga's Palermo continues to play offensively with a 3-4-3, and if it weren't for Buffon's heroics, there could have easily been another two goals. Juventus was slow and had no width, allowing for Palermo to close them down quickly. The final scoreline 2-0 for Palermo.

Inter Milan - Udinese


Inter Milan are able to move to the top of the table, and have the same number of points as they had last year after seven games. Inter start off well with Stankovic blasting the ball into the top left corner in the 22nd minute, thanks to a wonderful through ball by Eto'o. Five minutes later, Di Natale scores making it 1-1. Both teams are playing well, Inter Milan is building play with one touch passing, and Udinese attack with lighting counter-attacks, all of which Julio Cesar saves well. But little by little Inter continue to press and Udinese starts to play for the draw, eventually in injury time, Sneijder is able to slide the ball into the back of the net, putting Inter at the top of the table.

Seville - Real Madrid

Seville play a powerful Real Madrid side, starting well with Jesus Navas in the 33rd minute, Real Madrid down 1-0. Les Merenges react well with Pepe in the second half, 49th minute, 1-1. Everything is wrapped up in the 66th minute by Renato. Real Madrid were without Cristiano Ronaldo this game, could the Portughese winger be the key to Madrid's game?
